More recent, modern Reflexology practices the methods pioneered and developed in the 1930's. Dr Fitzgerald discovered that by applying pressure on the tips of fingers and toes caused the corresponding body parts to become anaesthetised and discovered Zone Therapy.
Eunice Ingham pioneered modern Reflexology by using the zone therapy developed by Dr Fitzgerald and applying it to the feet and by using acupressure and other massage techniques, developed a map of the entire body on the feet which is still used today on modern Reflexology.
